الوصف: | This PhD thesis investigates the factors that influence learning outcomes in e-learning platforms. E-learning platforms have undoubtedly become an integral part of the learning process; thus, it is necessary to investigate the factors that influence learning performance in this context. Two specific objectives were set. First, it was investigated whether personality traits, as assessed using the Big Five Personality Test, influence the perceived usability evaluation (according to the System Usability Scale) of nine widely used e-learning platforms. It was found that Openness to new experience and Extraversion had the strongest positive correlation with perceived usability for most of the platforms tested. Additionally, the levels of perceived usability of educational technology systems were determined through two extensive literature reviews using the System Usability Scale and Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire. In addition, the relationship between students' personality traits, perceived usability of e-learning platform and students' learning gain was also investigated. It was found that students' final performance was statistically significantly higher than their initial performance (p = 0.000, s) and their learning benefit from pretest to posttest was 29.66%. Furthermore, students' learning gain was found to be statistically significantly related to the perceived usability of the Zoom platform (r = 0.294, p = 0.002, s). Finally, a predictive model was created whereby perceived usability of the e-learning platform and students' personality traits predicted 14.6% of the total variance in learning gain. ; Η παρούσα διδακτορική διατριβή διερευνά τους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν το μαθησιακό αποτέλεσμα σε ηλεκτρονικές πλατφόρμες μάθησης.
