الوصف: Osnovni cilj ovog istraživanja je predviđanje konačne tjelesne visine odbojkašica korištenjem metode Sherar i sur. (2005). Uzorak ispitanika predstavlja 49 hrvatskih odbojkašica seniorske dobne skupine, prosječne kronološke dobi 22,14±1,26 godina, nakon točno 8 godina od provođenja prvog istraživanja kada su pripadala mlađe kadetskoj dobnoj kategoriji. Odabir varijabli za ovo istraživanje uključivao je 2 antropometrijske mjere: Tjelesna visina i Tjelesna masa, te 4 varijable: Dob maksimalnog rasta u visinu (eng. Peak height velocity, PHV) prema metodi Mirwald i sur. (2002), Koeficijent odstupanja od PHV-a, Predikcija tjelesne visine prema metodi Sherar i sur. (2005) te Odstupanje od konačne tjelesne visine. T testom analizirane su razlike između aktivnih i odustalih odbojkašica nakon 8 godina od trenutka prvog mjerenje antropometrijskih značajki uz nivo značajnosti od p≤0,05. Primjenom Bland Altman metode, prikazana je plot razlika između ostvarene konačne tjelesne visine i najniže predviđene tjelesne visine. Dobiveni nalazi ukazuju da su predviđene vrijednosti konačne tjelesne visine kod aktivnih odbojkašica niže od stvarnih vrijednosti, odnosno odustale odbojkašice imaju manje vrijednosti odstupanja od ostvarne konačne tjelesne visine. Utvrđena je značajna razlika između aktivnih i odustalih/neaktivnih odbojkašica u 4 korištene varijable.
The main aim of this study is to predict the „adult” body height of female volleyball players by using a method designed by Sherar et al. (2005). The sample of participants included 49 senior Croatian female volleyball players whose mean chronological age was 22.14±1.26 years, exactly 8 years after the first conduction of this study when the players were in the youth age category. The selection of variables for this study included 2 anthropometric measures: Body height and Body mass, and 4 variables: Age at Peak height velocity (PHV) adopted from Mirwald et al. (2002), Coefficient of variation in PHV, Prediction of adult height adopted from Sherar et al. (2005), and Variation in predicted adult height. T test was used to analyze the differences between active volleyball players and drop-outs 8 years after the first measurement of anthropometric characteristics, with the level of significance set at p≤0.05. By using the bland-Altman method, a plot of the differences between the measured body height and the lowest predicted body height was presented. The obtained results indicate that the predictive values of adult body height in active volleyball players are lower than the actual values, i.e., drop-outs have lower values of deviation from actual adult body height. Significant differences were found between active and inactive volleyball players/drop-outs in the 4 applied variables. Further studies on these research problems are necessary.
