| الوصف: | 本稿は人文学部英語英米文化学科において、2年生を対象に開講する科目「英米の文学A」で、英文学専攻者ではない学生に対してシェイクスピア作品を教える授業の報告である。授業ではシェイクスピアの戯曲、特に『テンペスト』に触れることにより、文学の学習上で重要な主題解釈への導入教育を行なっている。この授業で取り扱うシェイクスピア劇は二つで、『ロミオとジュリエット』と『テンペスト』である。学生の理解を助けるために、両方とも原作の映画化作品を使用している。授業では映画を視聴させつつ、さまざまな活動を次々に展開して、学生の興味と集中を持続させるよう工夫している。『テンペスト』を取り上げる際には、原作と映画の相違点を比較させつつ、文学作品における主題解釈の多様性を理解させ、社会的・政治的なテキストの読み方についても提示している。さらに、テキストの解釈は読者の手に委ねられており、ゆえに読者のテキストへの積極的な関与が文学鑑賞には不可欠であることを説いている。 This is a report on how I teach a course entitled English Literature which aims to guide non-literature majors into the world of Shakespeare. Among the many plays of Shakespeare, the course deals with Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest. This paper introduces various class activities in order to help students to understand Shakespearean plays better without losing their interest and concentration. The film versions of the two plays are also used in this course. In treating The Tempest, the comparison between the play and the film is indispensable to showing the students how to interpret the theme of the play. In doing so, I urge them to understand that different ways of interpreting the text exist, including studying it from a social and political point of view. By active engagement of the reader according to his or her viewpoint, I also point out to the students how a genuine appreciation of a literary work becomes possible. |
