Vanadium dioxide (VO2), a thermochromic material, demonstrates a notable insulator-to-metal phase transition at the transition temperature (TMIT) of 68°C, entailing considerable fluctuations in electrical resistivity and infrared transmittance, To lower the phase transition temperature closer to room temperature, a doping strategy is adopted. Bore emerges, following theoretical predictions based on Density Functional Theory (DFT), as a promising dopant to reduce TMIT. This pioneering work investigates the coupling between gold nanoparticles and films of pure and bore-doped VO2 on transparent substrates. Samples are synthesized using the pulsed laser ablation (PLD) technique, in both « single beam » and « cross beam » configurations, to achieve thin films with remarkable properties. These films are coupled with various arrays of gold nanoparticles, and their optical response is studied. Analyses reveal that bore doping significantly lowers the phase transition, bringing it closer to room temperature, a result that underscores the interest of doping optimization for future applications, vanadium dioxide (VO2), Doping, Nanoparticle, Plasmonics, Pulsed laser deposition (PLD), Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR)
