Laura Chiara Spinelli is a Research Fellow in English Literature at the University of Bari ‘Aldo Moro’, she has written extensively on Thomas Hardy’s fiction in collected volumes. Furthermore, she is the author of the monograph Libere facoltà. I saggi di T. H. Huxley (PensaMultimedia, 2018), which contains the Italian translation of two unpublished essays by T. H. Huxley, Universities: Actual and Ideal (1874) and Address on University Education (1876). She has recently focused on the reception of American comic strips in Italy in 1968

Time: where she teaches English Language and English Literature. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature awarded in 2012. Her research interests include 19th-century English literature – with reference to the genre of the short story and the relationship between literary and scientific education in the Victorian age – and Translation Studies.
