    Time: Sclerotium rolfsii was first noted in tomato during 1892 and since then has been identified as a major soil borne fungus affecting more than 500 crops till date., Sclerotium rolfsii has been identiifed as a major soil borne fungus all over the world. In Kerala, it has been recently observed to affect vegetable cowpea to incite basal stem rot and blight disease to result in significant crop loss.
