مصطلحات موضوعية: Family businesses have established themselves over the last two decades as a rapidly advancing field of study, attracting researchers from various disciplines—economics, management, psychology, sociology, family sciences, law, history, anthropology—drawn to their prevalence, unique characteristics, and complexity. The simultaneous presence of two social systems—the family and the business—with universally recognized differences in roles, objectives, and perspectives, lends unique attributes to each phenomenon under observation, beyond what is found when studying either component in isolation. The issue of conflict is particularly noteworthy. It underscores the need for diagnostic methods and tools to evaluate the characteristics, severity, and possible outcomes of conflicts. Researchers strive to produce knowledge that is practical for problem-solving and quality-of-life improvements, while consultants need to determine whether their expertise aligns with the intervention requested and if client expectations are clear and reasonable. The work is structured in five parts: A literature review analyzes 127 articles published between 1971-2016, summarizing prevailing scholarly perspectives, theoretical frameworks, research methodologies, and significant findings. The antecedents of conflict are categorized, and a map is provided for quick
